Smoke Alarms: You NEED to Know This!

Smoke alarms aren’t just there to critique your cooking skills, they also save your life! Which is why at Easy Life Plumbing we are fully behind new Scot Gov Legislation. Read all about it here.

February 1st 2022 is your deadline, all houses in Scotland must comply. ELP can ensure you comply with the new Scot Gov Fire and Smoke Alarm Legislation by this date.

What Does This Mean? Well, ALL homes (owners and landlords) should have;

  • Smoke alarms in every circulation space, such as hallways and landings

  • Smoke alarms in the room most frequently used for general daytime living purposes

  • Heat alarms installed in every kitchen

  • All alarms interlinked

  • Carbon Monoxide alarms to be fitted where there is a fuel burning appliance or flue

“It will be the expectation that properties comply with the new legislation, unfortunately, failure to comply may jeopardise your claim.”

Shona Robertson, Partner at H&R Insurance
